My sister was treated appallingly by Dr Alexander Drummond Begg. He shouted at her in the public corridor, in front of other patients, when she needed a wheelchair, 'Well here is a woman age 50 and in a wheelchair.' He humiliated her and treated her to his nasty, hostile environment. My sister now uses a wheelchair full time at home. If Dr Begg wants me to take this down, then instead of hiding, perhaps he could send me an apology in writing? By himself. The other doctor that responded wasn't even there. My husband was and he is planning on writing another review. None of these reviews will have him suffer, the way that he made her suffer! She just wants justice and assurance that none of his patients will be treated, like he treated her. The Equalities Advisory Board actually stated that his behaviour could be construed, as harassment and humiliation. Mr McGee witnessed it all Dr Begg. You know that he was the person that had to take a day off work, losing money to take her to this appointment. An appointment that you created. So you know that there was only the 3 of us in the room and that you did treat her appallingly. These quotes are genuine and you know it.
I wouldn't go to Dr Drummond Begg. When my consultant told me that I may have had a stroke, Dr Begg said "But Andrew Marr had a stroke and he got better. So why not you." Fairly thick thing to say. Plus when I first needed a wheelchair he shouted at me angrily in the public corridor, "Well here is a woman age 50 and in a wheelchair." Yet I was gutted about losing my mobility and still am. It's like going through grief for your mobility. The first person we turn to when we get ill, is our doctor. We certainly don't expect humiliation and harassment. So much for respect and dignity? It traumatised me and I lost all my confidence and my life ruined. Yet Dr Begg won't apologise. He wrote too on my notes saying that I had an MRI on my leg when it wasn't true. I saw another side to his personality. If he says things to other patients like he did to me, he could cause someone to take things way worse than I did. I don't want his patients to be put at any risk. So he must put things right and learn from his behaviour.

Have been a patient here since it opened about 32 years ago.. There's some really amazing doctors here. Some not as sympathetic as others. Nurses and clerical staff are lovely. Always willing to help
